Yes, it is true. Garth Brooks is back on stage! Even if this was just for one day, it is an event worth mentioning. The purpose of his one day comeback is for him to receive the Crystal Milestone Award.
His occasional live performances are still a delight for the fans. But let’s talk a little bit about his background. Born on February 7th 1962, Garth Brooks is simply put one of the best American country musicians ever.
He also introduced some rock influences into his music, and he managed to dominate the country music charts and the whole genre altogether. He has a great merit, that of exposing country music to a very large audience. With lots of platinum albums and over 165 million copies of his album collection sold in the United States only, he is one of the most successful musicians in the history of popular music.
As for his performance, Garth Brooks who is now 46 will play a medley of his hits. His fans should live this moment at its fullest, since it may be the last time they will hear from him for a very long while.
He retired in 2000, when he announced that he wanted to spend time at home, raising his children. One divorce and a marriage later (with fellow country star Trisha Yearwood), he still takes the challenge of being a home dad. However, he openly admits that he is anxious to get back in the music industry. I guess we’ll have to wait and see when that happens.
