Jon Lester Pitches An Amazing No-Hitter

The 18th no hitter ever in Boston Red Sox history was pitched today by Jon Lester, in Boston’s 7-0 win over Kansas City Royals.

Jon Lester’s story is in itself impressive, just like his accomplishment. The 24 year old left handed pitcher is a cancer survivor, having fought a form of lymphoma.

He pitches with his very unpredictable left hand, usually from a low arm angle. Some of his other features include the 4-seam fastball, a cut fastball, a slider, a good curveball and a plus changeup.

As for the Kansas City Royals, this is just the second time they have ever been no hit. The first time happened in Kansas City on May 15th 1975, and was accomplished by the Angels’ Nolan Ryan.
