Kristi Yamaguchi Wins ‘Dancing With The Stars’
It is now official: Kristi Yamaguchi is the new dancing queen, and the first woman who has ever won the ABC dance-off.
Born on July 12th 1971, Kristi Yamaguchi was a very talented American figure skater. In 1992, she became the Olympic Champion in the women’s singles competition. Her very prolific career also includes two World Championships trophies as a figure skater in 1991 and 1992. She also was a national champion in 1992. Her career in pairs figure skating also includes two national titles, which were achieved in 1989 in 1990 and a junior world title in 1988. She was even included in the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame.
And undoubtedly, in this year’s “Dancing With The Stars” competition, she was the best dancer. However, the fans are the ones that decide the winner, as Yamaguchi said so herself: “”Obviously the fans are the deciding factor here, and I can’t say enough to thank them.” She was praised even by her competitors, who recognized her superiority.
Jason Taylor, the massive but nonetheless very good dancer who is a pro football player, praised Yamaguchi himself and said that her performance was “just perfect”. Another important contestant, De la Fuente, said that “it was impossible to beat her.”
